4. Grenada to USVI
JANUARY 17-23, 2026 // 7 DAYS // 4 CREW // 400 NM // $3,850
Tyrell Bay, Grenada to Christiansted, USVI
This passage will leave the tropical paradise of Grenada for a 400 nautical mile offshore sail to the USVI’s.
The stronger Christmas winds should have calmed down at this point and we will sail NNE on a reach across the heart of the Caribbean. It will be a fast, fun sail as we plough our way north on a starboard tack. You can expect to spend 3 or 4 nights cruising under the clear Caribbean star-filled skies and we should also have time to explore an anchorage or two and really soak in the natural beauty.
This passage will offer the opportunity to experience a true bluewater passage on a more approachable scale. We will spend 3 to 4 days offshore instead of the 10 to 20 days to cross an ocean, but we will be in strong open ocean conditions. Expect to learn the skills necessary to complete an offshore passage, and how to take care of the boat and crew in reaching/upwind sailing conditions. In effect you will leave a better, more confident sailor. Also don’t forget to pack your snorkel as we should have a day or two to explore some picture perfect Caribbean anchorages.
